May 9th: MOTHER’S DAY MASS AND BASKET DRAWING: A Special mass will be held in honor of all Mothers, and Grandmothers. Afterward, a special coffee hour with a Raffle.  TICKETS ARE ON SALE AFTER May 2nd COFFEE HOUR…. AND THE BASKETS WILL BE RAFFLED OFF ON MOTHER’S DAY. PRIZES ARE FROM PAMPERED CHEF, AVON, MICHAELS, AND OTHER ‘SECRET’ VENDORS.

May 14-15th: PIEROGI SALE (POTATO AND CHEESE): ORDERS BEING TAKEN NOW BY BETTY ROSMUS 724-745-1957. If you want to learn how to make home-made pierogi and want to volunteer with the event, contact Betty to see how you can pitch in!

May 22nd: TAKE PRIDE IN OUR CHURCH DAY! This is a day of cleanup for the Church and grounds around it in preparation for our guests on Friendship Sunday and the other events on our schedule. To participate, email us or call the Parish with your contact information and amount of time you can spend on the 22nd starting at 10:00AM so we can plan. We need organizers, cleaners, gardeners, movers, lt. maintenance, and/or food preparers to feed the team!

May 20th S.A.M.B.S. Meeting at 7:00 p.m. (Last meeting for the Spring – will resume in September, 2010).

May 23rd: FRIENDSHIP SUNDAY: Please invite friends or family members to come to Church and stay for our special Coffee Hour!

June 6th: GRADUATION MASS - A special liturgy is being offered for any graduating Seniors from High School or College!

June 13th: SACRAMENT OF  CONFIRMATION – Bishop Peplowski will impart the Sacrament of Confirmation to prepared candidates at the 9:00 a.m. Mass.

Fr. Phil Lavery is celebrating another birthday today and Sacred Heart wants to extend a most blessed “Happy Birthday” to our Pastor whom we love and respect.  We hope you have many, many more years to come!

The Pampered Chef Bingo was a huge success for our charitable event at Sacred Heart – many folks joined in on the fun and played several hours to win beautiful Pampered Chef prizes, Silent Chinese Auctions, and Door Prizes. There was plenty of food, company and laughter to go around. Many thanks to the hard work of Sacred Heart Parish Members, the Pampered Chef Rep, and Father Phil for promoting the event during Mass. Now we have an official Bingo license for future events! Enjoy the pictures of the event….. come and join us next time!

A Pampered Chef Bingo is scheduled for February 20th in the Church Hall. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. and Bingo starts at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 each to participate in 20 games of Bingo. Additional bingo cards will be available at the door 50/50.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, Canonsburg is taking an official Parish Census for the year of 2010 to update our Parish records and we need your support. Last Sunday, Jan, 2nd, 2010, after Mass the new census form was distributed and completed to those present. In order to have accurate and complete address, contact and sacramental information on all parish members (and identify non-members for invitation), we can only accomplish this with updated information. All information is held as confidential in the parish office once submitted for administrative and/or sacramental purposes only.
